2022 Goals for the Open Mainframe Project

By | January 5, 2022

On an annual basis each fall, the Open Mainframe Project Governing Board comes together to set its plans for the upcoming year. Setting goals and objectives for an open-source foundation such as the Open Mainframe Project in many ways is similar to goal setting for for-profit organizations but has a big difference in that the Governing Board does set goals in terms of development and features of its hosted projects and working groups. Instead, its focus tends to both an outreach and an ecosystem development perspective, thinking about the outcomes expected of the foundation and what investments it can make into the community to help facilitate this.

In the spirit of openness and transparency, the Governing Board has published its goals and objectives for the upcoming year, in the context of the 5-year plan set in place this year. You can review these in our GitHub foundation repository.

We invite you to review our 2022 goals and provide your feedback! Connect with us on the Open Mainframe Project Slack channels to ask questions or discuss details about any of our projects.
