Zowe Innovation Week

By | October 21, 2022

Written by Jakub Balhar, Chair of the Zowe Technical Steering Committee

Got an idea for Zowe? Let’s work together to bring it to fruition!

Open Mainframe Project’s Zowe team is gearing up for Zowe Innovation Week! We are inviting the engineers from all Zowe squads, the mainframe ecosystem, Zowe users, or the larger open source community, to bring their ideas or hot topics they’d like us to explore. No topic is off limits and no idea is too wild. The goal is to have Zowe squads and/or the larger Zowe community to learn something new or experiment with new functionality.

How to participate

Join the Zowe Architecture call on Tuesday, November 1st 10:00 AM EST on Zoom (https://zoom.us/my/zowe.cicd) to present your ideas to the 50+ engineers in the Zowe community. There will be a one week period between the presentation and the actual innovation week to organize participants into teams where appropriate and so that they can prepare for the innovation week. It’s a one-week commitment!

Add the Zowe Architecture Meeting to your Calendar here.

The innovation week happens between November 8 – November 14. During this time the goal is to explore the ideas as far as possible and present the final outcome. Each team will present the ideas at the Architecture meeting on November 15 at 10:00 AM EST on Zoom (https://zoom.us/my/zowe.cicd).

This is an opportunity for the larger open source community using Zowe to join us either to present their ideas on how to improve Zowe or help drive a new feature or application.

If you are interested in participating but don’t have specific ideas, feel free to join the call and volunteer to be part of the team working on any of the presented ideas.

Can’t wait to see all of the fun and creative ideas the community comes up with!
